Our First Noel

Family was gathered, lots of fun was had, way too many cookies were eaten, pajamas were worn all day, games were played, guns were fired, gifts were opened, Jesus' birth was celebrated, love was
all around us!

O Christmas Tree

We have decided to go all out for our first Christmas…and I mean all out! We have already gone through about 5 boxes of hot coco and about 500 hours of Christmas music! Last Sunday we set off on a little adventure to find the perfect Christmas tree! Our journey took us to Marysville to the Busy B Christmas tree farm. In true Heather fashion we had to look at every tree before finding the "best" one...

...which we did.

Isn't it beautiful?! We named it Thirsty (it drinks a lot of water!)

Thanksgiving #1

Our first Thanksgiving consisted of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, my stuffed mushrooms and cookies, skyping with my family, food and games with Trevor's family, football and fun....

We have so much to be Thankful for.

Let the Christmas season (and Christmas music) officially begin....

Sunday Night Cookie Dough

When I was growing up, I would get what my mom lovingly referred to as "out of sorts" on Sunday night. I am sure a lot of people feel the same way as the weekend comes to an end and the work/school week is about to start. I chose to deal with my feelings by baking!

Even though I made brownies last Sunday...tonight was my amazing Kitchen Aid mixer's debut!

They turned out pretty good....

I think Trevor benefits from my little baking condition....

It Just Keeps Getting Better

The last couple weeks have been pretty eventful...Trevor went to a Sounders game with his friends, We had our good friend Megan over for dinner, we hosted a mini game night with some of our married friends Melanie and Ryan...but perhaps the two most notable were:

We rediscovered our love for Mario Kart and we made a very grown-up purchase at Pottery Barn...

Megs and Trevor getting after it!

That's Trevor in the middle.

Here is my husband putting our desk together....

Here is my contribution to the assembling of the desk....

Aloha, Hawaii!

Let me just start by saying, Trevor and I had the best time at our wedding! We LOVED that everyone got out on that dance floor…even my 91 year old Grandpa! We were so happy and exhausted as we drove away that night but we were so ready for our honeymoon! One thing I did not anticipate was all of the emotion that would hit me in about 72 hours….

Trevor and I arrived at our condo on Kauai Monday night. We were tired and we were hungry. We found this little grocery store not too far from where we were staying. We wanted to stock our kitchen with breakfast food and snacks for the week. As we wondered down isles of $10 per gallon milk and spam, I could feel my blood sugar rapidly dropping. I picked up a box of the family size Honey Bunches of Oats and tried to put it in our basket. Trevor began to inform me that the price per ounce of that box was much more expensive and therefore, we should get the regular size box. After some grumbling and complaining, I bit my lip and told him that was fine. Once we were back in the car something hit me and I started to cry…excuse me, I started to bawl! I will never forget the look on Trevor's face: complete confusion. He leaned over and tried to comfort me and ask me what was wrong. In absolute seriousness, I looked at him and said,

"I'm just worried that we will run out of Honey Bunches of Oats and you won't let me buy any more!"

Being the wonderful husband that he is, Trevor stifled his laughter and gave me a big hug. Of course that delicious Post cereal really didn't have anything to do with it…but it was definitely what pushed me over the emotional edge! It could have been the year and a half of planning, or the fact that it was all over, or even all of the love and support we felt during those last few days leading up to the wedding. I'm sure it was a combination of all of it! I had a good cry and Trevor had a good laugh! From now on if you come over to our place, you will always find a family size box of Honey Bunches of Oats. :)

Now on to the rest of our honeymoon.....
