Trevor and I arrived at our condo on Kauai Monday night. We were tired and we were hungry. We found this little grocery store not too far from where we were staying. We wanted to stock our kitchen with breakfast food and snacks for the week. As we wondered down isles of $10 per gallon milk and spam, I could feel my blood sugar rapidly dropping. I picked up a box of the family size Honey Bunches of Oats and tried to put it in our basket. Trevor began to inform me that the price per ounce of that box was much more expensive and therefore, we should get the regular size box. After some grumbling and complaining, I bit my lip and told him that was fine. Once we were back in the car something hit me and I started to cry…excuse me, I started to bawl! I will never forget the look on Trevor's face: complete confusion. He leaned over and tried to comfort me and ask me what was wrong. In absolute seriousness, I looked at him and said,
"I'm just worried that we will run out of Honey Bunches of Oats and you won't let me buy any more!"
Being the wonderful husband that he is, Trevor stifled his laughter and gave me a big hug. Of course that delicious Post cereal really didn't have anything to do with it…but it was definitely what pushed me over the emotional edge! It could have been the year and a half of planning, or the fact that it was all over, or even all of the love and support we felt during those last few days leading up to the wedding. I'm sure it was a combination of all of it! I had a good cry and Trevor had a good laugh! From now on if you come over to our place, you will always find a family size box of Honey Bunches of Oats. :)
Now on to the rest of our honeymoon.....
